Are You Watching Revenge Yet?
If you're not watching Revenge yet, you should be. It's still going strong.

If you are... then I'm wondering whether you were also playing Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" in your mind during the end of the last episode.

heh. I don't think anyone can ever get shoved off a raft ever again without that song playing in the sub-conscious. Does that make me insensitive?

Motive
I watched the new show, Motive, last night and wasn't impressed. I was really looking forward to seeing it as they've been hyping it up for weeks and the premise is interesting. It even started off really well. You immediately find out who the killer and the victim are with great big labels. OOOH! Intrigue!!

But then it just sort of fell apart. It was a bit boring through the middle and I just didn't much care about any of the main players. They weren't all that interesting.

They gave the main character an interesting car, so that was cool. It's an 80's Olds Cutlass and appears to be in near mint condition.

Of course, they ruined the coolness by having her son use it in a drag race later in the episode and managing only a mid-17's quarter mile time. They make it out to be quite an accomplishment, but it's really a sad effort and nothing to be proud of.

Normal viewers wouldn't think anything of it and just take their word for this being a good run, but come on... how hard would it have been to either make a proper pass with the car, or just completely fake it on the scoring boards?

TV Land Update!
I just felt like throwing some tidbits in here.

I gave up on Revolution and deleted it from my PVR before the holidays. No more wasting time on that crap.

Flashpoint is done, and that's sad. It was one of the best shows on TV and if you never watched it, I highly recommend it. All of it. It was a great series all the way though!

Go On is still funny, and I've actually added it to my PVR schedule. I'm really enjoying that. I'm also watching Don't Trust the B*** in Apt. 23 on a regular basis. It's ridiculous and silly. Give it a shot.

Elementary is still one of the best new shows and I'm still enjoying it. If you liked House, then definitely get on this one!

For some reason I'm still watching The Office, though it definitely jumped the shark years ago. I don't know why I'm still watching it. Nobody needs my opinion on this one though. If you've watched it from the beginning then you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, then there's no way you should start now.

I guess that's about it. I mean... hockey is coming back... but who cares? Maybe I'll care again next season. We'll see.

Elementary and Arrow
Just a quick update. If you're looking for something to watch, both of these are good candidates. Still good. Still worth watching.

I like that Arrow deviated a little from the general theme it's had so far, and we're getting more and more little tidbits of his life on the island.

Elementary is still fairly procedural, but we're getting more insight into the characters. I still find House to be the best show to compare it to, and it's still holding up quite well.

Arrow
Firstly, yesterday morning my TV died. I'd planned to replace it in December, but it just had to stick it to me one last time by dying two months before I could put it out to pasture. Stupid TV. I've replaced it with a smaller one from my bedroom for the moment so I can still get my regular fix, but now I'm in the market for a new one. Fun times!

I've given up on Revolution but my wife now won't let me stop it from being recorded on the DVR. She's too invested now to let it go, so we're going to continue to waste an hour of our lives every week to see this thing play out.

I'm officially calling it utter crap though, and strongly urging people not to watch it. Don't waste your time. I think they have a group of writers sitting in a room just trying to come up with "dramatic plot elements" to fill time and try to add excitement. Their original story arc probably only had enough in it to fill 3 or 4 episodes and they're just dropping things in to make it span a season.

Or maybe it's just me. Maybe it makes perfect sense that when you've only got two people fighting for a cause to make the world a better place and fight tyranny, one of them would stab the other just to get their own way about a single plan.

Now... Arrow. I had this sitting on my PVR for over a week and finally watched it last night. It's good enough to stick with it for the moment. That's about all I have to say for now.
