Motive
I watched the new show, Motive, last night and wasn't impressed. I was really looking forward to seeing it as they've been hyping it up for weeks and the premise is interesting. It even started off really well. You immediately find out who the killer and the victim are with great big labels. OOOH! Intrigue!!

But then it just sort of fell apart. It was a bit boring through the middle and I just didn't much care about any of the main players. They weren't all that interesting.

They gave the main character an interesting car, so that was cool. It's an 80's Olds Cutlass and appears to be in near mint condition.

Of course, they ruined the coolness by having her son use it in a drag race later in the episode and managing only a mid-17's quarter mile time. They make it out to be quite an accomplishment, but it's really a sad effort and nothing to be proud of.

Normal viewers wouldn't think anything of it and just take their word for this being a good run, but come on... how hard would it have been to either make a proper pass with the car, or just completely fake it on the scoring boards?

TV Land Update!
I just felt like throwing some tidbits in here.

I gave up on Revolution and deleted it from my PVR before the holidays. No more wasting time on that crap.

Flashpoint is done, and that's sad. It was one of the best shows on TV and if you never watched it, I highly recommend it. All of it. It was a great series all the way though!

Go On is still funny, and I've actually added it to my PVR schedule. I'm really enjoying that. I'm also watching Don't Trust the B*** in Apt. 23 on a regular basis. It's ridiculous and silly. Give it a shot.

Elementary is still one of the best new shows and I'm still enjoying it. If you liked House, then definitely get on this one!

For some reason I'm still watching The Office, though it definitely jumped the shark years ago. I don't know why I'm still watching it. Nobody needs my opinion on this one though. If you've watched it from the beginning then you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, then there's no way you should start now.

I guess that's about it. I mean... hockey is coming back... but who cares? Maybe I'll care again next season. We'll see.

Go Team Canada!!!
Dammit. They're down 2 goals after the first period.

Come on, Team Canada! Pull this one out so I don't have to wake up at 4-freakin'-AM for the next game!!

I've watched all the games live so far... make it worth the effort!

GO TEAM! :)

What's Different About This NHL Lockout?
I was just thinking about the last time the NHL season was cancelled due to labour disputes, and for some reason it feels to me as though it were different last time.

I just can't seem to recall why that was.

I seem to recall last time thinking that the Leaf's were being put-upon by the league and that my team really just wanted to get back to playing. I feel like, during the last one, we fans were the unfortunate losers but that the people running the show actually felt bad for us or something.

That may or may not have actually been the case, but I just seem to recall feeling very differently back then than I do now.

This round feels different. This time it feels as though nobody cares about the fans while the players and owners fight it out. I feel as though we fans are just irrelevant fodder and everyone thinks our money will just flow back in when they want or need it to. I feel completely taken for granted this time, and don't remember feeling this way the last time around.

When the last lockout happened, the Leafs and Senators played up their rivalry, and gave something back to the fans, by staging AHL games between their farm teams in their NHL arenas. It was the St. John's Leafs vs. the Binghamton Senators. I went to both of them, at the ACC and travelling to the Corel Center (at the time) in Ottawa. They were some of the most exciting hockey games I've ever been to.

This time around, I haven't heard about any such events. Not that it matters. If they had them, I honestly wouldn't be the least bit interested. I just don't care anymore, and I don't expect I'm the only one that feels this way.
